How much protein, sugar and fibre is actually in a Protein² bar?
Every 55g Protein² bar delivers 15g of protein and around 12g of fibre, for less than 5g of sugar (exact figures vary slightly by flavour. See the nutrition tab above). That protein comes from a milk protein and whey protein concentrate base, not a chalky isolate, and it's unbaked, so you get the macros without the dry, powdery texture.
Is Protein² vegan, dairy-free or gluten-free?
No, and we want to be upfront about this. Protein² uses milk protein and whey protein concentrate as headline ingredients, plus oats, so it's not suitable for anyone avoiding dairy or gluten, and it isn't vegan (it also contains beeswax). It's nut-free and vegetarian, with no artificial flavours or colours. Please check the full allergen label before ordering if you have a specific dietary requirement.
Do I need to unwrap Protein²?
No, that's the whole point. Every bar is coated in a 0.25mm, 100% natural beeswax layer instead of a plastic wrapper. Just like the skin on an apple, it's tasteless, waterproof and completely edible, so you eat it with the bar rather than peeling it off. Reach into your pocket, and enjoy.
Will it melt in my gym bag or car?
Protein² is heat-stable, so it won't melt. In very warm conditions it may become slightly softer, but it'll hold its shape and its beeswax coating stays dry to the touch.
What does the beeswax coating actually taste and feel like?
Honestly, a little different to what you're expecting at first bite - it's not something you're used to on a snack bar. Most customers tell us it's a worthwhile tradeoff for a genuinely plastic-free bar, and after the first bar or two you stop noticing it. Underneath, it's tasteless and adds nothing but protection.
